La Laguna in Joseph

Great Mexican cuisine! Really friendly people. Prices may seem a little high until you get your meal and realize you'll have enough food for the next two days lunches in leftovers.

Ordered the La Laguna Best Burrito. First real food after a 29 miler in the Wallowas. 4/5. They were a bit understaffed and other than the staff no one took wearing a mask seriously. Beautiful view eating outside though!

Funny staff! Good food! Hot salsa. Best cocktails in town. Great place to watch sports. Open all year long. Down the street from wallowa lake. What more can you ask for.

I admit I'm picky about Mexican food. I lived in Mexico for a while, so I demand authenticity. La Laguna Restaurants are the most authentic places in Wallowa County to eat. Yes, two places. Husband runs one, wife runs the other. Great food, good price-to-portion ratio, outstanding service, and tasty margaritas.

Just stop there to eat. The waiter said we needed a reservation for our group of 13, but it would take him 10 minutes to get a table ready(he was very rude when he told us this and made an irritated face). (Note that there was only 1 table being used by a family of 4.) the place was basically empty. He told us we needed to wait outside (in the heat). We did so, 15 minutes go by and we go in to check out if it’s ready and he’s just leaning on the bar doing nothing. OBVIOUSLY he did not want our business so we left. We will NEVER go back there again.

Waiter was awesome very friendly and great with our child. Food was delicious the homemade hot sauce was amazing and a great margarita!

This was my first time to LA Laguna's restaurant but not my last. The place is beautiful inside and out. Plenty of tables outside for everyone and the staff was so friendly and helpful you know I will be back.

My favorite things were the atmosphere and service. We had a great server! (He gave us free dessert, maybe because it was almost my birthday or maybe just because he’s nice.) I got the avocado tostada and loved it. The house made sangria is also delicious. My husband got the nachos. They weren’t his favorite nachos that he has had but they were good (he is also a bit picky). I’d definitely visit again!

Food here was great!

After entering we waited almost 5 minutes just to be seated. Took waiter another 7 minutes to bring over a basket of chips and water. He did not bother to take drink orders and said he’d be back. 10 minutes later he was still not back. Having been in the restaurant for close to 20 minutes without being able to even order a beer, we walked out. And I NEVER walk out of restaurants. Good Mexican restaurants should offer timely, courteous and efficient service. This place delivered none of the above.

Nice place, not enough servers for rush hour traffic. Food is more Tex-Mex than Mexican. OK if that is what you wanted, not so much if you are expecting Mexican food.

We had such a great experience here!! My husband, son, and I came for dinner after being in the car for 13 hours. The staff was so friendly, the service was the quickest we’ve ever had, and the staff was so patient and friendly with our toddler son. He had a bad case of the wiggles and they talked to him in funny voices and gave high fives to encourage him to eat. There was also a birthday group there and the birthday guy said loudly multiple times “this is my best birthday yet!” And he had to be at least 65. We were just passing through town, but we will be back!!

Three of us had a fantastic meal here after a day trip to Wallowa Lake. The server and bartender, Jose, was fabulous! He curated our drinks based off of our personal preferences and gave us excellent recommendations on food as well. If you’re looking for delicious food and top notch service in Joseph, look no further than La Laguna! Hands down the best Mexican food I have ever had!He also hooked us up with some of his hand-crafted Smoky Oil Sauce. ¡Muy muy delicioso!!!!

Oh my god. So good. Cool nice people too. Outdoor seating dog friendly. Lots of good adult beverages.

I was a bit indecisive on what I wanted to eat. My waiter asked if I wanted a great burrito and of course I said yes. He brings me this amazing burrito asador, it was delicious. My dining companions didn't think I would finish a nearly foot long burrito, then were amazed when I cleaned my plate. Definitely coming back here on my next visit to Joseph.

We had the Burrito Asador, it was amazing. It is huge and was more than enough food for me and my husband to share. The chips were fresh, the salsa was amazing. My husband loved the smoky oil sauce. Our waiter was very friendly and even gave us his steak recipe. Cant wait to try it. We will definitely eat here again next time we are in Joseph!

Definitely a must stop when you’re in Wallowa county! I love going here to the Jospeh restaurant after a fun day at Wallowa Lake. The pictures below don’t do the food enough justice. I wish la grande had a La Laguna because I would go there more frequently than once a year. Nevertheless if I’m ever in Jospeh I for sure make sure to stop here and eat. The guys, the waiters are great too.

Really good food, and the waiters were fantastic. Extremely kid friendly, too. Had a couple little ones with us and they both left with smiles on their faces and balloons in their hands.

I had my wedding rehearsal dinner here on 8/3. Called the restaurant two days before my event to see if they could accommodate a party of 30(!). They were able to do so and gave us the most excellent service possible! Our waiter was great enough to explain why the food could not be served all at the same time for such a large party, but it was barely even noticeable. Everybody had a great time eating, drinking, and laughing. We left the place with not a single full plate nor glass full. Thank you so much for our experience, we will definitely return when back in the area. it may have just been a crazy Friday night for you guys, but it was absolute perfection for my bride and I.

Guy is very outstanding through his vocalizing/loudness. Made the meal somewhat uncomfortable... Horchata was good though (wasn’t made from powder). Food was really good... older waiter not so much.
